Eye Exams & Much More

Health and vision play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life and overall well-being of our patients.

At our practice, we offer a wide range of comprehensive eye care services. Our goal is to diagnose, treat, and manage common eye conditions and diseases so that our patients can maintain optimal health and live their lives to the fullest. During our eye exams, we conduct various tests to evaluate eye muscle function, visual acuity, and peripheral vision. Additionally, our experienced eye doctors thoroughly examine your eyes for any abnormalities associated with dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other conditions.

Whether you require a comprehensive eye exam, treatment for diabetic eye conditions, or any other eye care services, we are here to provide the assistance you need.

Our Eye Care Services:

Comprehensive Eye Exams

Comprehensive eye exams are key for maintaining eye health and sharp vision. Our vision exams go beyond simple vision tests to evaluate your overall eye health, checking for refractive errors like myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, as well as early signs of serious conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Key components of the exam include:

  • Visual acuity tests to measure clear vision
  • Refraction assessments for precise eyeglass/contact lens prescriptions
  • Eye muscle tests
  • Pupil response tests
  • Peripheral vision assessments
  • Eye pressure measurements to detect glaucoma
  • Detailed exams of the front and back of the eye to inspect the retina and optic nerve closely

In addition to the comprehensive eye exams outlined above, our clinic also offers the following specialized services:

  • LASIK Co-Management: We work closely with the surgeon before and after your procedure, offering pre-surgical advice, post-operative care, and follow-up exams to monitor your recovery and vision improvement.
  • Cataract Co-Management: Similar to our LASIK service, cataract co-management pre-surgical assessments to evaluate the health of your eyes and determine the best approach for cataract removal. After surgery, we provide post-operative care, including monitoring your eye's healing process and adjusting your vision correction as needed.
Eye Disease Management

Eye disease management is a critical aspect of maintaining optimal visual health, and it includes a wide array of conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Each of these diseases has its unique causes and treatment options, such as:

  • Cataracts: Often related to aging, cataracts cause the eye's lens to become cloudy, and surgery is the primary treatment to restore vision.
  • Glaucoma: This eye disease is characterized by increased pressure in the eye and can lead to vision loss if not managed properly. Treatment options range from prescription eye drops to surgery to lower eye pressure.
  • Macular Degeneration: This age-related condition affects the retina and can severely impair central vision. Treatments include lifestyle changes, vitamins to slow progression, and, in some cases, laser therapy.
  • Diabetic Retinopathy: This is a complication of diabetes that damages the blood vessels of the retina and can be managed through tight blood sugar control, laser treatments, and injections to reduce retinal swelling.

Effective management of these diseases often requires a comprehensive approach, including regular monitoring, lifestyle adjustments, medication, and, in some cases, surgical intervention to preserve and protect vision.

Advanced Technology

Our practice employs the latest advancements in optical technology to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatments for a variety of eye conditions. This includes state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic tools that enable precision care for our patients.

Contact Lens Exams
Contact lens exams are an essential step for individuals looking to transition from glasses to contacts or for those needing an update in their contact lens prescription. These exams not only assess your vision and eye health but also ensure you get the perfect fit for your contact lenses. During a contact lens exam, our eye doctor will take precise measurements of your eyes to determine the best type and fit of lens, especially for conditions like astigmatism, where the eye's curvature requires specialized lenses for clear vision.

Additionally, a tear film evaluation is performed to address any potential dry eye issues, ensuring the lenses remain comfortable throughout the day. The exam also includes a fitting session where trial lenses may be used to find the most comfortable and effective option, taking into account any other vision conditions such as presbyopia, which affects near vision and often requires multifocal lenses.

Dry Eye

Dry eye syndrome is a common eye condition that is caused by the eyes producing low-quality or an insufficient amount of tears. It can negatively impact an individual's life, leading to symptoms such as irritation, redness, discomfort, and blurred vision. We offer a variety of treatments for dry eye, such as the innovative OptiLight by Lumenis, an FDA-approved light therapy designed to alleviate dry eye symptoms. It works by targeting the meimobian glands which produce the oil layer of tears. This improves tear quality and reduces discomfort.

Eye Emergencies

Our practice is equipped to handle eye emergencies, providing immediate care for injuries, infections, and sudden vision changes. We prioritize urgent cases to ensure rapid treatment and minimize the risk of long-term damage.

Glaucoma Testing

We offer focused glaucoma testing to detect early signs of the disease, using advanced diagnostic equipment. Early detection is crucial for managing glaucoma and protecting your vision from this potentially sight-threatening condition.

LASIK & Refractive Surgery Co-Management

We provide comprehensive co-management services for LASIK and other refractive surgeries, guiding you through the entire process from pre-surgery evaluation to post-operative care. Our experts ensure you receive the best possible outcome for your vision correction needs.

Myopia Management

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a prevalent vision problem that is caused by the eyeball being too long relative to the focusing power of the cornea and lens of the eye. This results in blurry distance vision which worsens over time, potentially leading to serious eye conditions in the future, such as retinal detachment and glaucoma.

To manage the progression of myopia, we offer a variety of treatment techniques, like low-dose atropine eye drops which relax the eye's focusing system, and multifocal eyeglasses and contact lenses. We'll also guide lifestyle adjustments to optimize vision health and prevent future complications associated with high myopia.

Pediatric Eye Exams

Pediatric eye exams are specially designed to evaluate and protect the visual health of our younger patients. We create a comfortable and engaging environment for children, ensuring accurate assessments and the early detection of any vision problems.

Presbyopia Diagnosis & Treatment

We offer expert diagnosis and treatment options for presbyopia, a common age-related vision condition that affects near vision. Our treatments include prescription lenses and other corrective options tailored to your unique needs.

Specialty Contact Lenses

Specialty contact lenses are designed for people with unique eye conditions, enhancing vision where standard lenses might not suffice. We offer a variety of specialty lenses for people with varying hard-to-fit conditions, such as:

  • Scleral lenses that cover the entire cornea and are ideal for those with irregular corneas or severe dry eyes, creating a moisture-rich environment for comfort.
  • Rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses, hybrid lenses, and specific scleral lenses for keratoconus, a condition that causes corneal thinning and bulging.
  • Toric lenses designed for astigmatism correction, featuring different powers across the lens to address the eye's irregular curvature.
