IMPORTANT UPDATE #5: PLEASE READ ENTIRE MESSAGE

Valley Eye Associates is happy to announce that as of now, our office is open!

We will be operating on different office hours while keeping safety in mind.

We are currently available Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Below are the safety protocols that have been put in place for all visiting patients:

  1. All equipment is cleaned with 70% isopropyl alcohol before and after each use. Examination chairs are disinfected using a virucidal spray before and after each patient. All high touch surfaces are constantly disinfected with virucidal solution.
  2. A protective plastic shield has been installed at the front check in area.
  3. Upon arrival each patient will need their temperature checked with a non-contact thermometer and blood oxygen level taken with a pulse oximeter.
  4. Each morning staff will also undergo temperature and blood oxygen screenings.
  5. We will use our online check-in form as well as requiring any insurance cards or documents to be sent to us via text/email.
  6. All payments can be made with credit card by phone.
  7. All visitors will be required to wear a face covering or mask at all times. You will not be allowed to enter without wearing one.
  8. All pick-ups, adjustments, and other visits will require an appointment time. This is needed so that we know when to expect you and can distance you from anyone else.
  9. We will schedule gaps in between each patient to avoid any overlap between patients. Please come at your scheduled time. If you arrive too early you may have to wait in your car. If you arrive too late for us to perform the necessary tests for your exam you may have to be rescheduled.
  10. A maximum of 2 people will be allowed into the office.
  11. Frames that are tried on must be put into a separate box. Frames are disinfected by saturating in a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for a minimum of 10 minutes, dried, and then stored for 3 days before being put on display.

Our staff will be reaching out to patients whose appointments were canceled to help them reschedule.

Feel free to call us at 201-664-0847 during our business hours or visit our website at www.2020nj.com to reschedule your appointment.

Thank you.

Congratulations Dr. Theisz !

-From everyone at Valley Eye Associates:0002

Congratulations to our doctor, Dr. Nicholas Theisz, on his retirement! For those who do not know him, he started Valley Eye Associates back in 1971. He has grown the practice since those early days and has formed many friendships throughout the years. In recent years, he has cut down his hours of practicing optometry, but has very much been involved in the behind-the-scenes development of our practice.

Many of our patients have come to know Dr. Theisz quite well. Pretty much everyone knows of his travels across the USA in his RV. He always has a great story to tell about one of his adventures in some part of our country.

We Thank You for your dedication, guidance, and friendship. Our patients thank you for all your years of caring for their eyes. Congratulations again on a well-deserved retirement. We hope to hear all about your new adventures and wish you the best.

Introducing …

ECO Eyewear by MODO

ECO was conceived by MODO’s founder, Alessandro Lanaro. His idea was to create the first eyewear brand with sustainability and social responsibility as its main commitments.

ECO is the only eyewear brand made of 95% recycled content (our Recycled Collection) or 63% biobased material (our Biobased collection) – plus, a tree is planted for every frame sold. We empower customers to reuse ECO’s packaging and donate their unwanted eyewear to people in need, which provides the gift of sight to 314 million adults and children worldwide. ECO’s mission has become a game-changer in the industry.

“Adding sustainability and social responsibility to a great collection like ECO was certainly a winning combination. We are humbled by the reception in the marketplace and we are proud of our achievements, notably planting one million trees in Cameroon! There is a great journey in front of us and we are committed to keep on going!” – Alessandro Lanaro, CEO MODO

Being environmentally friendly and looking good is the best of all worlds!ECO is designed by the boutique eyewear firm MODO to be on trend and easy to wear.

ECO Biobased eyewear is made from 63% plant-based materials, certified by the USDA. ECO Recycled is the only eyewear brand in the world made of 95% recycled materials. Plus, we are certified by UL Environment, so when you purchase ECO, you minimize the use of new resources.

ECO plants a tree for each frame you buy. We have planted over 1.4 million trees in Cameroon so far!

ONE FRAME – ONE TREE

ECO was “born recycled” in 2009, with the start of the program ONE FRAME – ONE TREE, in partnership with the NGO Trees for the Future. Since then, ECO has donated and planted a tree for every frame sold. So far, ECO has planted over 1.4 million trees in Cameroon, Africa!

“We have a responsibility to leave the world a better place than how we found it. Together with Trees for the Future, ONE FRAME – ONE TREE is making a positive impact not only on the environment, but for the people of Cameroon.”

– Alessandro Lanaro, CEO MODO

TREES FOR THE FUTURE

“Trees for the Future is dedicated to planting trees with rural communities in the developing world, enabling them to restore their environment, grow more food, and build a sustainable future. We are proud to have a partner like ECO and we are thankful for their dedicated support, enabling us to achieve our goals.”

— John Leary, Executive Director, Trees for the Future

IT ALL STARTS WITH A SEED

A seed that is given to Cameroon farmers and then planted in nurseries. Bare-stem transplanting workshops are held by specialists like Kingsley Neba. Cameroon farmers are taught by Trees for the Future about agroforestry and other sustainable farming techniques.

EDUCATING AND EMPOWERING

The workshops extend throughout the community and even to public schools, like the Ecole Publique Dschang Renka Michel, where, with the help of their amazing school director Heleine Tsopmo, children learn farming techniques that will help them create a brighter future.

FARMING

From the nurseries, plants and baby trees are transplanted into fields where farmers continue to cultivate and evolve their land and benefit from their improved soil and reccurring crop yields. With sustainable resources of income, Cameroon residents like Anaje are able to feed themselves, their livestock and make a living.
