He represented the American Optometric Association's legislative committee in Washington, D.C. where he regularly met with state representatives to further health care. He was a Trustee for the New Jersey Optometric Association. Dr. Theisz originated and remains a member of his local professional study group. For 34 years Dr. Theisz served in a volunteer capacity as the clinic doctor for the Pascack Valley Hospital Eye Clinic.

Dr. Theisz is looking forward to working with Dr. Brody-Sendroff and to having more time to travel with his wife and family in their motor home. Rest assured that he will continue to be available to his long time patients and is committed to their care.

Joie Brody-Sendroff, OD

Dr. Brody-Sendroff received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology from Muhlenberg College in In 1998. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2003. During her last year of studies, she had a life changing experience working in emergency and family eye care for the Apache Indians through the Indian Health Services in Arizona. While there, she helped form a much needed Glaucoma Clinic and implemented school vision screenings for every child on the reservation.

She has excelled in the diagnosis and treatment of many common and uncommon ocular diseases. Additionally, she is committed to providing thorough eye care and enjoys prescribing glasses and contacts to young and old alike. Dr. Brody-Sendroff also has a passion for helping the less fortunate obtain access to proper eye care that we all deserve. This passion inspired her to travel and participate on a mission with the Lions Club to the Dominican Republic earlier this year where she volunteered to examine over 1,000 sets of eyes while supplying glasses and treating numerous eye diseases.

Dr. Brody-Sendroff continuously strives to be involved in the latest technologies and enjoys practicing to the fullest extent. She is an active member of The New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association. While not every optometrist has the ability to prescribe oral medications, Dr. Brody-Sendroff, like Dr. Theisz, holds a license to prescribe oral medications, giving them the capacity to treat patients to the fullest extent that New Jersey allows.

When she is not working, Dr. Brody-Sendroff enjoys spending time with her husband David Sendroff and their two rescued kittens. She also enjoys tennis, kick boxing, traveling, and cooking.

When you visit the office, you'll be greeted with her warm and friendly personality. It's not uncommon for her first time patients to bring their entire families back to see her after their great experience! She is truly looking forward to serving the Westwood community and the surrounding neighborhoods.
